Ask what the source and system can introduce

A water-quality discussion should begin with the actual operating location and the full path taken by the liquid. Describe nearby activities, the air intake, the collection surface, the tubing, and the storage container to the professional advising you.

Do not assume that a clean-looking outdoor setting settles every question. A photograph cannot identify the composition of the air or all materials contacting the water. Nor does the absence of an obvious smell establish that a source is appropriate.

The aim is not to diagnose contamination from a picture. It is to identify what information a competent assessment needs.
